Horst Gasthaus, North Myrtle Beach

My family ate there today and the food was great, but the black forest cake was not a black forest cake. I had real thick mushrooms on my german steak, I forgot the name, and the waitress that has been there for 30 some years was very nice and the music. Please have real Black Forest cake and dont sell any. the meal was great other than that.

Just YUM! Great Food... Very Fattening :) Go there, do it now... bring me some takeout!

A friend and I had gone to MB in the fall to study for our LSAT. We drove around the first night not able to decide on where to eat when we came across Horst's Gasthaus and what a GREAT find it was. We ate there for the next three days, drank too (hehehe)and it was incredible. The staff, the owner, the bartender and the food were great and definately REAL German. I am actually from Germany (born & raised) and this place is one of the few that I can honestly call REAL GERMAN. It was fun, the staff was/is awesome and I am planning to be back really soon! PS: My friend and I did awesome on our LSAT and are proud to let the crew/staff know that we made it into Law School! We love you! Cheerio, T & S

Absolutley LOVED this place!!! We stumbled upon this locale by watching the Horst Gasthaus commercial on the public access TV station. We are so glad we did!!! The food is excellent, with a wide variety of menu options. All six of us enjoyed every bit of our meal. The service was friendly and the atosphere made you feel as if you were actually in Germany. The oom pah music and accordian only added to the ambiance. Great place, with outstanding food, and guaranteed fun evening!!!

We recently celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary at Horst Gasthaus. The food was excellent , as always, and the service was very good. However, we were very disappointed with the music, which was advertised as polka music, but was mostly children's songs!! There were several children in the restaurant and the entertainment was all for them. Not what we had in mind for our romantic evening!

Horst Gasthaus was absolutely fabulous! Excellent, authentic, delicious German food. Having been to Bavaria before, I really appreciated the cusine they offered and was very impressed with the great variety. Probably the best German food I have ever had in the U.S. The polka band was awesome, Jan and Joe, can give a great show! Very friendly staff. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. My only regret was not ordering their Black Forest cake!

Great restaurant, very good food. I always travel all over the United States to find good German food and Myrtle Beach got it's finest one here. Very friendly atmosphere, excellent beer, excellent Weinner Schnitzel and of course the German patato salad is out of this world. You must visit this restaurant, you will not be dissapointed.

This restaurant gives German cuisine a bad name. Food was greasy, burned, of poor quality and bad tasting. Most every dish was doused in strong vinegar or floating in grease. The atmosphere and entertainment were mediocre. The waitress acted as though she was personally insulted when we asked for water instead of beer.
