Bodo's German Restaurant & Pub, Myrtle Beach

Overall a great time! I went with a friend on a Thursday night in January. We were politely greeted upon entering and were given the opportunity to choose our own table. Great, authentic beer selection, by the way. We had the potato pancakes as an appetizer...AMAZING! The menu had an abundance of choices that I was torn between. I chose one of the sausage dishes with the champagne kraut and potato salad as my two sides, all of which were delicious and in generous portions. The inside atmosphere was cozy and made me forget that I was in Myrtle Beach (a nice change). Very polite service without crowding our table too much. That can be hard to do on a slow night. I will be back!

ehhh..bodos is ok. i go there for my birthday every year. it is kind of run down looking, but the food is wonderful. it is just like the food i got in hiedelburg....it felt like i was in someone's home...the comments below me do have some valid observations, but the surroundings add atmosphere...

The reviews were all pretty good so we figured the restaurant would be good... boy were we disappointed. We went here on a Tuesday night and there was noone there.. there was a younger woman sitting the computer ignoring us when we entered.. it took us about 15 mins before someone came from the back and seated us. In all the service was EXTREMELY slow besides the place looking like a dump. The lighting was horrible, which was somewhat good though being that the salad I recieved (only after waiting 20 mins after ordering it and had to ask for it) was brown all over. Also a caution to everyone don't expect a lot for the money either. we got the potato pancake appetizer ($12.95) which consisted of 2 pancakes. They were the only thing that was halfway good, but I can make them at home for the amount they charged. Also each of our meals were $16.95 each and came on small plates. I got the egg noodles and german potato salad as side and they both looked as though they were scooped out of a container with a ice cream scoop or something. All of the food that I tasted was soaked with a vinegar taste. In all this was a bad experience our dinner took almost 3 hours even though us and one other couple were the only customers. We won't be going back again! We will have to find another German Restaurant in Myrtle Beach.

One of the best german resturants i have ever been too. Food is out of this world and many of the nest german beers on tap and in the bottle. A super cool place to eat or just hang out and have a few beers with friends. I will go back for sure.
