I have never had any issues with this place, the food is always great and the servings are always more than plenty. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves mexican! I have been a loyal customer for several years!
The waiters are rude. The food is good, but they rip you off. A $5 side is no more than a cup of food. They make you refill your own drinks. I highly recommend going to Cinco de Mayo in Moncks Corner for you Mexican food fix.
I had a very bad experience at this restaurant! The staff was rude and rushed me and my guests through our meals. The food was very disgusting and didnt taste like it was cooked properly. Everything was very overpriced and we were dissapointed to realize we were charged for the chips they put on our table when we sat down. On top of it all later that night someone from my table called to complain about our experience and the manager cursed at him. I will not be wasting time or money on this restaraunt again!
I love Mexican food. Living in Texas we had a lot of opportunity to sample Mexican Restaurants. The Charleston area on the other hand has offered little choice. There was nothing that was close to what I found in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
That changed with the opening of El Maguey. I have eaten there numerous times since they opened and have found the food to be very tasty.
Biggest drawback is the size of the parking lot. It is simply too small for the restaurant. But this restaurant is still worth the parking issues. I would recommend going before the crowds begin to arrive if possible.
El Maguey is the closest in taste to what was available in the North Texas area. I would heartily recommend this restaurant to people looking for a taste of Tex-Mex.
I have eaten at El Magey a handful of times. The food is very good. However, two different times the employees have given themselves a tip on top of what I left. The first time I thought it could be a mistake. Then, it happened two days ago. It also happened to a friend of mine at. Do not trust this place....there are many other Mexican restaurants around that are just as good.
