Oscar's, Summerville

Lets just say this was one of the best restaurants that my husband and I have been to in a long time. I was impressed from the moment we walk into the lobby. The ambience was very clean and comfortable and upcale. The food was absoutely fantastic. The price was very comparable to chain restaurant. I feel this restaurant has alot more to offer that restaurant chains. I had the greek gyro platter and my husband had chicken and proscuitto panni. The portions were perfect. The dessert was really big but it was worth the money. The wine list was pretty extensive. I am amazed on all the wine they offered. Will go back again.

One of our favorite places to eat in Summerville. The food is delicious but the service is even better! Excellent staff.

My daughter and I recently went to Oscar's and was sadly dissapointed! The cost was rediculous for prime rib ($25.00) that did not get you a salad with it. The charged us $2.00 for the salad. The She Crab soup was nasty - gooey texture that was pastey and absolutely NO taste of crab. I have to say I make it much better. Very dissapointed with the waiter - seemed like he had A.D.D - he couldn't hold a thought and was speeding around like he was on something. I will never go back!

I have to agree with the poor guy who went there for a romantic valentines day dinner,but instead recieved an expensive and challanging expierence. My family tried Oscars for the first time recently and it will be our last. The She crab Soup was a disaster. It was full of nutmeg,(a little goes a long way),and had a unapealling texture,like paste and water. The main course was litteraly a pile of goo. It was listed as a seafood burrito, but tasted like old seafood covered in melted cheese goo with more slime added on top. It was revolting!

Menu is dated and boring. Not awful, just not what I expected when I got there. The wait for food was RIDICULOUS..amazingly slow. Almost an hour for food.That is just poor, or an understaffed restaurant. I would say go to Charleston and dine at a real restaurant. This one just doesn't cut it.

First time on Valentine's Day 2/14/08. In Summerville for wife's pending eye surgery. Went to Oscar's on strength of these reviews. 6:30 appt. Place was mobbed; sat at bar (pity it is the smoking area but hey, you dummies are entitled to cut your lives short - free world) for 10 mins then seated on enclosed patio (not as comforting an area as main rooms). OK but would prefer being in main dining area. Made immediate pleasant contact with other diners who dine there regularly and all confirmed top ratings. Service attentive and professional - and cheerful! Special V-Day menu offered good but limited choices probably at slightly elevated prices. Pork chop/au gratin potatoes/seared spinach - outstanding! Prime rib very good but have had equally as good elsewhere. Oh by the way: happy hour at bar 2 fer 1 was a very welcome feature particularly on V-Day. Check Happy Hour times. Will be headed there again in two weeks when wife has her surgery. Wife was offered choice of Oscar's or that fancy resort dining and chose Oscar's. Looking forward to trying regular menu (and Happy Hour). Enjoy!

I've lived in Charleston for ten years, and Oscar's Place is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great specials (always something different). Very casual and family friendly for such great food and service.

We had our Rehersal Dinner here in March 2006. I had been to the restraunt on 2 prior dates, and the food is just fantastic everytime. The staff is more than helpful and always gracious. I have been to many restraunts in many states, and I have to say that this one is the best I have ever had.
