Long Island Cafe
We became established in May 1986, years before the stoplight was installed. Weac2re at the foot of the beautiful Isle of Palms Connector Bridge, in the Island Center, right next door to the Red & White Grocery. Weac2ve never had a view to speak of but the beach is just across the street and down a block. This doesn't slow our faithful customers though, theyac2ve been coming back for over 20 years.
We had a group of 11 that called ahead. The waitress seemed mad that she had our group. She plopped our food in front of us, rolled her eyes when we asked for more rolls and was curt when she spoke to us.
The food was excellent, though and the desserts were awesome!
This looks like a cheap family place from the outside and when you walk in you almost want to turn around and walk out (if your a family w/ young kids who doesnt have much $)But we stayed, only cuz it wouldve been embarressing to leave. It was very pricey--5 for a plain pb&j sandwich for my kids. Nothing special either. My food and my hubbys food was great but the price was still high, and this is not the place you want to go in shorts and flip flops, so next time we will think twice. But the staff was great and food was good but its not the most family friendly place.
