Dislike: Pretty much everything. The room was awful. The microwave and tub had burns all over the top where people had laid cigarrettes on them. The vents had dust on them older than I am. The internet didn't work and when I told the back-woods front desk people they seriously asked me if I had tried opening my curtain because the internet was wireless!!! The bed was hard and was just like sleeping on the floor. The paint had footprints and scuffs all over it and the faucet dripped constantly. The only good point was leaving. I travel all over the country with work and I would have been happier sleeping in my truck!!!!
Dislike:: When my boyfriend and I arrived at the Motel the room was hot and stuffy. There was water on top of the refrigerator that was what we thought was from a leak of some sort from the floor above us. The walls had signs of unfinnished remodeling. There was dust in the vent located in the bathroom that looked like it has been building up for atleast a year. The pillows that we were given to sleep on were flat and very uncomfortable. The over all presentation of the room was very poor. The bed and furniture looked like it was used and was very old. The metal components in the closets, the vanity area, and the bathroom were all rusted. The only pleasant experience about this place was check out. The attitude of the hostest at the front desk was very unprofessional and rude. The only time they acknowleged us as valued customers was upon checkin when we handed her cash for the room, after that brief exchange we were no longer a concern of the Motel staff. I could honestly say I feel as though things could have been presented a whole lot better than what it was presented upon arrival.
My husband, grandson and I stayed at Berkeley Motel last April, 2008. We fish in the tailrace of Santee every year around spring break. This was our first time to stay there and we LOVED it. Everyone was so nice and the rooms were so clean. I hope if GOD'S willing, we will be there again this April. I would recommend this motel to anyone for any occasion! Thanks to all that helped our stay be a joyful one!!
The Berkeley Motel was a wonderful place to stay! The rooms are nice and clean and quiet, Breakfast was great (only place in Moncks Corner that has it), The employees were polite and very helpful even when I needed extra pillows and towels, they had wireless internet in the rooms, and best of all the rate was very reasonable. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone.
