AMAZING!!! I recently went there. It was our last day and Charleston and I wanted something that would send me home with a smile. I am so happy my boyfriend picked this place. I finally decided on the buttermilk chicken. Everything about this dish was simply delicious. I am still craving the collard greens. My boyfriend (who is a foodie and picky-eater) even ate the upside-down pineapple bread pudding and he HATES bread pudding. Let s say a miracle was performed that day because he liked it.
My fiancé and I went here for our 2012 valentine dinner. The menu was outstanding particularly the fried green tomatoes along with everything else we had. It was great to see fine dining choices offered in smaller entree potions. The wine list was excellent and our waiter Billy was engaging and helpful without being overbearing. The chocolate raspberry creame brûlée in the heart shaped dish was a very nice finishing touch.
I eat at Magnolia's EVERY time I go to Charleston. The food is absolutely wonderful and from the minute we open the door to enter, we are welcomed. Brook is awesome. Last time was Mother's Day and it was the best Mother's Day meal I have ever had. I had eggs benedict and each of the other 4 people in my party had something different. No one was disappointed. Your chef is a master and your staff are excellant at what they do. Can't wait to go back!!!
By far, the favorite of all the places we ate in Charleston! We dined for lunch and had fried chicken, served with collard greens, corn and mashed potatoes. Unbelievable is the only word to describe such a great meal. Wish we would have gone back again because all the other restaurants we visited never measured up to Magnolias!
I have been in Ca. for 13 years now and never miss a chance to get to Magnolias when back in Charleston. The shrimp n grits are the best, period.
I travel for business but have yet to find a better place for food, ambiance, and history. If you don't stop in it is certainly a HUGE mistake.
