LA Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Charleston

Horrible mexican food. Stay home and make it yourself.

The best La Hacienda I've ever been to (I've eaten at at least 8). Much better than downtown. Don't sit near the bar because it smells funny sometimes in that area.

After living in Oklahoma, it is hard to live in a place where it is impossible to find authentic mexican food. These guys serve up the generic Mexican favorites, but it doesn't taste fresh or like anyone cares about making it delicious. The salsa is like ketchup, the meat is bland, and the preparation is so fast, I am pretty sure they unwrap a Taco Bell package, slap it on a plate and deliver it when you order. The margaritas are good, prices aren't bad, and overall it is just average.
