Tbonz Gill & Grill, Charleston

This is my favorite restaurant in the lowcountry....

My wife and I discovered T-Bonz back in the 90's and it quickly became one of our favorite places to eat in Charleston. The location is great - right on the market, and the atmosphere is casual and fun. One of my favorites is the She-Crab soup, and their steaks and sandwiches are good too. Even my picky kids can find something on the menu. We've been to Charleston 7 times and it's the first place we go for dinner.

AWESOME just like I remembered it to be! I am a former employee and fan of TBonz, but haven't been to one since 2001. I was so happy to see the Double Fried Wings, Tommy Fries, and She-Crab soup were still on the menu and they still taste exactly the same, if not better!

Awesome, first place I had dinner in Charleston. Took awhile to decide what to get and the place was decked out to the max. Everyone was friendly and courteous... not like back home in Lima, OH. I recommend T-Bonz one of the best places to eat dinner. And to all those people who want to eat at places they can eat where they are from.... you are missing out on new experiences in dining.

I first went to this place in the late 1980's, and it was great then. But something happened about 4-5 years ago, and it has been downhill ever since. I guess they figured out that the place would be pack most of the time with tourist so quality did not matter. Their price structure has remained basically unchanged since I first went there, so the quality of what they buy has gone down. Steaks, salads, baked potatoes: they are all bad. Once upon a time they would cook a steak just like one asked them to do, but now a days it is obvious they keep the fire low, which is what restaurants do when they don't want to spend money on a real cook. So, stay away.

Love the atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good food and plenty of it. We always go there when we're in town. The wings are great!
