Hank's Seafood Restaurant, Charleston

I would have given Hank's a 5 star rating based on the food alone, which was perhaps the best I've had. I deducted a star based on the service, which was poor. As the hostess led us to our table, I looked at the waiter who watching us being led to his section. He literally rolled his eyes, shook his head, and turned around. Maybe waiting on two old ladies wasn't his idea of fun. Traveling to Charleston was a life long dream of my Mother, who is in her 80's, and this was the year I could make that happen. I had heard so much about Hanks, that I wanted to treat her to a special dinner. He was prompt in his approach, but did not smile once. Both of us noticed his frosty demeanor. We were served efficiently, and the food was superb. I noticed that other wait staff at other tables were smiling and chatty with their tables, but not our guy. So I would go back to Hanks, but I wouldn't sit in this guy's section.

My birthday was Sunday July 25th and I went to Hank's that evening for a delicious seafood meal. I enjoyed every bit of what was on my plate. As an appetizer, I tried the she crab soup and it was THE best I've tasted by far since living in the Carolinas. I had to order a second serving cause it was just that good. If you're in Charleston looking for scrumptious seafood, holla at Hank!

High end restaurant, was a little disapointed. A little high priced for what we got.

Hank's is a stunning example of what a good restaurant should be . The food is excellent as well as the superior atmosphere . Superb local cuisine and fresh . I make a mad dash for Hank's every time I go to Charleston . Oh yes , and the best part is the dinners are very reasonably priced . Cloud 9 awaits you at Hank's !

Our waitress, the atmosphere and food was wonderful at Hank's. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Charleston but go early it gets busy for dinner.

The food is for tourists not locals. The swordfish was mushy and the shrimp/calamari app. was not fresh seafood and it was heavily breaded. My wifes chicken tasted like a childs chicken fingers. The endive salad was awful.

Always a favorite to visit when family comes in town (especially if they pick up the tab). Nice atmosphere, friendly, but calm and private. Great food, never disappointed. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

The waiter wasn't attentive at all and the food was just okay-I was really disappointed, as it was our only night to be in Charleston and a friend recommended Hanks.
