WOW!!!!!!!!!! I took my vegetarion son, eccentric picky-eater mom, and lebanese husband, to this resturaunt as a last resort, the waiters/owners were the nicest most helpful people you could ever meet, we got a delicious mahi-mahi salad, it melted in our mouths! my sons tofu went fantastic with everything, as we speak, we are discussing when we will go back tonight!
I agree - Fish used to be one of, if not the best restaurant in Charleston. Lately, I have no clue what's happened, but it has gotten just plain awful. My last meal there will definitely be my LAST. One wouldn't think you could really botch up a fish entree too badly, but apparently you can. Hopefully they'll get back on track, but I think I'll pass on Fish for now.
Something has definitely happened to Fish. I always felt like it was the best restaurant in Charleston - fresh, excellent, well-prepared seafood. Lately it has been just dreadful! It's as if it's not even the same restaurant. My meal was tasteless - the fish was overcooked, and my side dishes were horrendous. I can't say in good conscience that I will be dining at Fish any time soon. They definitely need to work on their consistency and quality control and bring back the character and flavor that they once had. A very disappointing dining experience indeed!
FISH used to be a pretty good restaurant. Lately it really lacks consistency. On some visits you can get a great meal - others you can barely eat it. I don't know what is going on here, but the last time I visited (8/29) the food was awful and the service was mediocre.
My wife & I like to go to hear the singer that they usually feature on Wednesdays. I called today to make reservations and was told that they have even let him go! As far as I am concerned, he was the only thing that they had going for them at this point. What a disappointment! We will be eating elsewhere on Wednesdays now.
I am a local and go out to dinner every Saturday night. My wife and I first went to Fish a few months ago and had a great meal. We went back again last month and had terrible service tasteless food (that was luke warm). This is too bad because we thoroughly enjoyed the first meal.
