Slightly North of Broad

Description

Slightly North of Broad is a Lowcountry bistro that brings together an abundance of local ingredients and thoughtful, expert presentation with a friendly, contagious energy. Here the dining room is a natural extension of the kitchen, a place where culinary skill, a clever, considered wine program, warm service, and conversations meld together. Our local farmers, fishermen and producers are as integral to the food we make as they are to our place in this community.

Awesome place! Excellent service! My mom, brother, and I just got back from Charleston and this was our fave restaurant. We had one dinner and one lunch there during our four day visit. Our waitress was superb - very attentive, knowledgeable, and personal. She didn't hesitate to offer suggestions when asked and was spot-on with everything she recommended. I highly recommend it - we'll be back again as soon as we can all get away!!!

Very good. It is just that simple. It has been around for many years and still is one of the top choices in Charleston.

Certainly one of the best in town. A Charleston Institution.

Some of our most memorable Charleston meals were at SNOB. A great place to enjoy low-country favorites such as shrimp-and-grits. Not the fanciest restaurant in Charleston, but nevertheless one of the best.

If you only eat at one place in Charleston, this is the experience you should have. The food is soul-inspired but definitely cutting edge. The portions are not pretentious and the servers are all passionate about the dining experience. The charcuterie plate is very impressive, I also recommend the shrimp and grits, beef tenderloin and the beet salad.

SNOB is at the cutting edge of the Charleston food scene, using mostly local ingredients melded to traditional Southern concepts. The result is excellent. Good wine list, well-trained servers, attractive space. One of our best meals in the city.

Without a doubt the best dinner I have ever had. We started with lump crab cocktail and smoked salmon with horseradish and toast points; I could have made a meal with just them. We then moved on to roast duck wraps, and crab cakes for our entrees; simply the best crab cakes we have ever had. Unfortunately they had run out of the prime rib but my sister in law said her steak was cooked to perfection. I also had a cosmopolitan that was so good I imbibed in another which is highly unusual for me. When in Charleston, it would be a sin to miss out on this dining experience.

Might be my favorite place in Charleston. Food is always above the rest. Love the local ingredients used in the menu. I normally order off the specials menu but the regular menu is still great. Chef Frank Lee has a great culinary mind and his Sous chefs make it all happen. Not uncommon to see Chef Lee working in the kitchen. Most Chef's at his level don't do that. Shrimp & grits, charcuterie plate, and trigger fish(special menu) a must.

Great food and pleasant casual atmosphere. Service during lunch was a bit spotty - polite but slow.
