My family and I were visiting from California and we were all very pleased when we stumbled upon this place. The food was GREAT, very tasty and just the southern food we were looking for. There are several enticing items to choose from, a very difficult task but you will definately be delighted with what ever you get. The prices are small and the portions are big. I can't say enough about this place. I wish there was one out here in California; infact my mother-in-law and I still talk about it some 5 months later. It's that good!
Whenever we are in Columbia we try to make to this restaurant. I don't think that have been many times that I have not been pleased with the food or the service. The atmosphere is very down home. The food is delicious (if country style cooking is your thing). I suggest the pork chop dinner or the chef salad for lunch or dinner selections. If you want a real country breakfast try the catfish and grits! Love it.
I live 100 miles from the nearest Lizard's Thicket but take EVERY opportunity to go to or through Columbia just to eat at one there. I would like to contact the owner(s) and see if there is a possibility of the restaurant opening at least one or two in this area. I also took a friend from here to Columbia a month ago, went to LT to eat and she is going to take a 'road trip' with hubby just to go there and eat!!!! The food is the best and the service is wonderful!!!
The quality of the food is good but I can never get what I order and pay for at the drive-thru. I order dark corn bread, I get it almost white--and dare I ask for another!! I order hot baked chicken salad--I get it COLD. I stop visiting for a while and returned today only to get yet another COLD salad--yes, I did ask for it hot. Maybe I was fortunate to get dark bread. I guess if I continue to visit I need to take an extra 5 minutes at the window to thoroughly check my order. I would just like to get WHAT I ORDER AND PAY FOR!!
