Pasta Fresca, Columbia

I tried this place out for the first time today, i wanted an alternative to the olive garden and something closer to home. so i did a local search for Italian food and Pasta Fresca came up. Seemed like a lot of good reviews and i even checked out their website which was up to date! We we made the decision to check it out and we are so happy we did. It is a very small place but great things come in small packages! everything was fresh! much fresher compared to olive garden and they had a great menu. Great kids menu too! This will be our new favorite spot since we left even more happy than we arrived! I was also really happy with prices and portion sizes.

After reading the reviews on this place I just had to go check it out, the place was allright looking. My table was never cleaned and had a little bit of stuff on it from the people before me but no big deal. I ordered there traditional lasagna. When it came out I was thinking did I order soup? I had to drain the water onto the salad dish. The taste of this lasagna was kinda watery and lack of flavor. It was one of the most horrible meals I've had here so far. Who ever owns this place or manages this place needs to improve there quality of food here because it was just as good as haveing a microwavable dinner, The staff there was nice and I still tipped even though the food was no where near being good, its not there fault they work in a place that doesnt know anything about serving quality food. Go here if you want some Lasagna Soup.

Ordered the Chicken sauteed with Mushrooms Roasted Red Peppers & Green Onions in our Cayenne Cream Sauce tossed with Spinach Angel Hair Pasta. Love the fact that the pasta is made in-house daily-tastes so fresh. We also ordered loaded bread with the creamy marinara sauce. I could eat the sauce by itself it was so yummy. Prices were fair and the portion sizes were large-had to take half the dish home. Looking forward to going back to try more of their menu.

Pasta Fresca has amazing food! The appetizers, main dishes, and desserts are delicious! The prices are a little higher than Olive Garden but the fact their pasta is home made and very tasty is worth it. I wish they sold their dessert cakes by the whole cake and not just by the slice.

The food is very good and actually a bit of a bargain. I had the pasta with artichokes. The sauce was very flavorful and the pasta was obviously fresh and cooked perfectly. Both of these are things that are very hard to come by in Columbia (I think most places around here would consider a can of spaghettio's authentic italian cuisine). One problem I had was that the artichokes were not cooked properly. In a dish like that you really need to saute the artichokes a bit to get some color on them. These came straight out of the marinade and into the sauce. Also some of the artichokes still had the woody outer leaves on them making the dish diffult to eat. Overall, with some better execution this dish could have been something special. Also the waitress did neglect to offer us the wine list. But I come to expect that sort of sloppy service in this town. I will definately go back.

Food is assuredly this best Italian in the Columbia area, but the exterior is off-putting. Ignore that and eat here anyway.

They make all fresh pasta and it makes a huge difference. I love the Loaded Spaghetti... that's almost always what I get. It is a small place, but I've never waited too long for a seat or felt too crowded.

I absolutely love this place!! They make their own pasta and it makes the biggest difference compared to other restaurants that use pre-fab boxed pasta. The portions are outta control, so be prepared to share or take something back home for later. Some of my personal favorites are the Chicken Pesto, the House Special, Loaded Spaghetti, and their specials are nothing less than spectacular. Their dinner salads are great too. The dressing on their tossed salad has just the right amount of tang and their caesar salad dressing has just the right amount of richness to it.
