As Asheville as it gets...
This is one of the most popular dining experiences in town, featuring regional twists on classic entrees (ie: the Reuben is made with chow-chow instead of saurkraut). A nice cross section of the population is swiftly served by the capable staff, and the show kitchen is entertaining to watch. Over the years, the food has been exceptionally consistent- the Grit Cakes appetizer tastes exactly like it did the first time I had it.
