Being from New York, I can say that I used to be impressed by the pizza at Angelo s. It was very close to NY style. However, yesterday I ordered two large cheese pizzas to go, and when I got them home, they were not up to Angelo s usual standard. They were bland-tasting and not like the NY style they purport to be. I called the owner today to discuss it and he became immediately hostile and defensive, and unwilling to take constructive criticism from a loyal customer of 5 years. Accusing me of simply looking for a buck, he told me, I don t give a sh#$ about your opinion. If you don t like it, eat somewhere else . Needless to say, I was shocked and dismayed that a business owner in this economic climate could be so cavalier about throwing away a loyal customer s business. So I politely told him he was being a total a%# hole and hung up.
Bottom line: Angelo s has gone downhill since Pizza Divas closed, with a who-cares attitude about customer satisfaction. I for one will never darken their doorstep again, nor will my wife, our daughter, her husband or any of their 5 children. I hope their shameless behavior will lead to their restaurant s demise. It couldn t happen to a nicer fellow.
