Without a doubt, the best restaurant I have ever had the fortune to try. I was in the Franklin area about 4 yrs ago, looked for a good spot for dinner and ended up eating my next 4 meals there over a 2 day period. Miss it and will certainly plan to return once I am back in the Franklin area.

Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous! The other reviewers have already said what I would say. This is one of Franklin's gems. Divine! However, probably not the kind of place one would take little kidlets. It is fine dining. If one did take their kidlets, though, the kidlets would LOVE the food, too! And the ambiance is almost as entertaining as the food. A perfect overall experience. (BTW: I love the waitstaff, too!)

Excellent food. Their seating layout is a bit odd. Despite the fact that it's a tiny place, it has a nice ambiance if you're not seated next to anyone annoying. (Which IS rare, given the typical diner). Their bleu cheese burger is a-mazing. Unfortunately, it's a lunch-only item.

love their salads, and their baked brie is pretty amazing!!! A truly great place for a cozy, conversational meal for two. There is also something to be said for it's little cubby hole of a location... it's super inviting, especially winter later afternoons.

I haven't been for lunch yet, but the dinner entrees are well put together from the selections to the ingrediants. It's a quaint stop to make for a nice evening.

We happened upon this restaurant quite by accident while traveling this summer. What a glorious surprise it was! We thoroughly enjoyed the cornbread with applebutter with our salads. And all three of us had entrees that we devoured. I enjoyed the coconut chicken with raspberry sauce. The best part was there was so much food, we had leftovers. I got to enjoy this fantastic meal again for lunch the next day. We also loved the intimacy of the seating. We felt like we were on our own little white brick patio! The service was excellent. I will find some way to travel to Franklin again, just so I can enjoy this restaurant.

Although we have been to Franklin many times, this weekend was our first visit to The Chef & His Wife. The food was outstanding, especially the wild game sausage and pork chops. We also had crab cake and oyster starters, which were excellent, as was the trout almondine tried by one of our party. Service was excellent - the server was quick, attentive and knowledgeable. All the food was freshly cooked and well presented. We sampled a piece of raspberry chocolate cake for dessert...sampled by four because it was just too big for even two people to finish on their own. Finally, a nice surprise was the bill. For the two of us, with extras, it came to $53, truly a bargain. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an excellent meal in a pleasant atmosphere at a very reasonable cost.

Chef Mark has everything well in hand at chef & his wife. There is always a crowd , but I don't mind waiting in line for his resturnat. I Love the fresh salad's , all of his sandwich wraps . The Steaks are super as is the seafood always fresh ! Try it once and you'll be coming back !
