The Gamekeeper, Boone

The Gamekeeper is a full service restaurant nestled a few miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway between Boone and Blowing Rock. As it's name suggests, it specializes in an eclectic array of entrées ranging from rattlesnake to rabbit to ostrich. The food is exceptional and served in a warm, rustic atmosphere. The restaurant itself can be a little difficult to find so if you've never been there you may want to call ahead and get directions. I have eaten there on several occasions and have always had a wonderful experience. If you're in the mood to try something different, you have got to try The Gamekeeper. Seating is limited, but they do take reservations and it is highly recommended you do so especially during the Summer and Fall Months.
