Asheville's Best Kept Secret!
In Asheville on business, we were in the mood for some Greek food and after doing a yahoo search, were hard pressed as to which of the handful of area Greek restaurants to try. We finally decided on this one after reading the positive review about their great Baklava. Well, we came to find that that is not the only great thing about this restaurant.
The location, although a bit away from most other restaurants is nevertheless very accessible, right off of highway 240 (exit 4C).
Inside, it's spacious, clean and on the classier side of nice. The service is top notch. The food is great! The rolls were homemade, served with real whipped butter. The Athenian Greek Platter is a huge tastey appetizer with more feta cheese, kalamata olives, tomato wedges, grilled pita, etc.than you could ever eat! The Dolmadakia appetizer- a generous portion of 7 stuffed grape leaves are excellent. The Gyros Platter was very good. The homemade Spanakopita - spinach blended with herbs and cheeses between layers of golden baked fillo dough- tasted so good, I'd have to say that was my favorite dish. And of course, we topped it off with some great tasting Baklava.
We liked it so much we went back AGAIN the very next night for dinner!
