I have eaten in small towns and major cities all over the world. This is one of my favorite places that I always visit at least twice when I am in Asheville. Grove Park Inn Ribeyes and Prime Rib at a fraction of the cost. Since it is a family resturaunt, you can also get sandwiches and burgers. Lets face it, when you travel do you want to go pay for a decorated plate or grab a great meal. The waitresses are very friendly and the actual owners are always there to make sure everything is perfect with your meal. Also try the homemade cakes. They are to die for.
Wow the prices were absolutely amazing as it was an extremely good portion for a meal that cost me 7.50 at dinner. I have only been one time and my dish was meteoker at best, but I'm sure I missed out on some other item that was great. The reason It has a minus star is because of the low budget awful ambience in a restaurant, as it is definately not a place for a date or business clients. It is a great place to go with friends for lunch and a cheap meal. Thank you others on here for the recommendation!
Oh my goodness! I discovered this restaurant while working in Asheville for an attorney who would now and again get a hankering for a good burger and send me out to Three Brothers to get his favorite. The rest of the staff and I started getting the grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, and potatoe salad. This escalated to office birthday parties, almost monthly, with the most popular cake being the lemon pound from Three Brothers. Not satisfied to keep it in the office, the paralegal staff eventually began to gather at the restaurant in the evening for our monthly gal-pal celebration of friendship and food. We have ventured out from grilled cheese to the spanakopita, a quiche-like spinach dish, and other Three Brothers specialties, which have proven to be delicious. The owners and staff are welcoming, efficient, and tolerant of our gab-fests (no audible sighs or raised eyebrows). Three Brothers is our all-time standard, our favorite place of comfort and comfort-food.
In Asheville on business, we were in the mood for some Greek food and after doing a yahoo search, were hard pressed as to which of the handful of area Greek restaurants to try. We finally decided on this one after reading the positive review about their great Baklava. Well, we came to find that that is not the only great thing about this restaurant.
The location, although a bit away from most other restaurants is nevertheless very accessible, right off of highway 240 (exit 4C).
Inside, it's spacious, clean and on the classier side of nice. The service is top notch. The food is great! The rolls were homemade, served with real whipped butter. The Athenian Greek Platter is a huge tastey appetizer with more feta cheese, kalamata olives, tomato wedges, grilled pita, etc.than you could ever eat! The Dolmadakia appetizer- a generous portion of 7 stuffed grape leaves are excellent. The Gyros Platter was very good. The homemade Spanakopita - spinach blended with herbs and cheeses between layers of golden baked fillo dough- tasted so good, I'd have to say that was my favorite dish. And of course, we topped it off with some great tasting Baklava.
We liked it so much we went back AGAIN the very next night for dinner!
Three Brothers has wonderful food at good prices. The family owned business is a favorite with locals. The best part, however, is the baklava - the honest to goodness Greek grandmother bakes it in her own kitchen. If desserts are your thing, you should also try the amazingly moist lemon pound cake.
