China Inn Chinese Restaurant, Havelock

food was bleh.. The lo mein noodles were more like spaghetti noodles and not very flavorful, the chicken (in the lo mein) was giant greasy chunks, the pepper steak was ok but too salty, the white steamed rice was not even all the way cooked or old (had crunchy pieces in it) and the egg roll was gross. And I have had REAL chinese food before. I am from Philly PA and philly and nyc china town food is like gold compared to this. Will not be ordering again. Don't waste your money

This is the ONLY Chinese place I order from in Havelock. I don't know why there are bad reviews. Obviously they have never had REAL Chinese food before. I always get my order fast and have never had a problem. Also they are super friendly. My favorites are the crab meat rangoons, vegetable lo mein, and the garlic chicken fried rice. I recommend them. Don't let bad reviews steer you wrong. It's amazing. Very Authentic.

I hadn't tried this restaurant based on the reviews posted here previously. I ordered cashew chicken, gen. Tso chicken, happy family, broccoli beef, egg drop soup, and egg rolls. I picked it up. Everything was good. I have lived in California, Nevada, Virginia, and North Carolina and it tastes fairly close to every other restaurant's food. I'm not sure what the other people were talking about unless the restaurant has changed hands, they were having an off day, or the people writing it are used to something else. I don't order dumplings, pepper steak or crab ragoons because they are not really Chinese. I also think lemon chicken is Thai and curry chicken is Indian. All the food in this town is made for the overly white population. Very little spice and fried.

I just received my China Inn delivery order. I promptly sampled all of my dishes, which included Crab Rangoon, Fried Dumplings, Lemon Chicken and Curry Chicken. The only thing I can say about these dishes is DISGUSTING! The dried dumpling was soggy, which I can understand as they had it in a styrofoam container. However what I couldn't understand is the filling was one solid hard mass. The Crab Rangoon tasted like it had been cooked in old grease and that was the only flavor that they had. The dipping sauces, the generic red sweet and sour dipping sauce, could not save either of these items. The Lemon Chicken was rubbery and there was very little sauce. The flavor of the sauce however, was quite good. The chicken curry was nothing special and was very bland. I was so upset that I threw all of it away. A waste of 27.00 plus tip (32.00 total) Lesson learned! DO NOT ORDER FROM CHINA INN (Havelock, NC)! You are better off making it yourself at home. Heck go buy the bags from the freezer section at Wal-Mart. I am positive they taste better than this place. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I think this is a good delevery resturant...the other chinese resturants in town charge $15 minimum for delivery...there food is good...try the beef lo-mein....and the service is fast and friendly. NO BS.

This was the worst chinese food I've ever eaten. I ordered pepper steak and the sauce was just an oil and water mixture. The steak tasted worse than a tv dinner. The fortune cookies were even stale!
