I have been there twice last year and dare to venture back again this year. As a frequent visitor of the beach, South Beach Grill has been good in the past. But both times last year were horrible - first time I let it go and being a fan over the years went again, only to find it to be worse. Air conditioner continuously broken with water dripping from the vents in the ceiling to our table. Waiter wiped with smelly damp rag that turned our stomach. Dirty glasses and spotty silverware did not help matters. Food has gone down in taste yet prices have gone up in dollars !! Way to expensive for what you get - but I guess that's what resort restaurants try to do, gouge tourists. Sorry to see it has gone so down hill as the cleanliness leads a lot to be desired.
See for yourself. We asked our concierge and the manager at the local Harris Teeter and everyone gave this place the nod. I can see why, we had a great dinner and prices were reasonable. Do not go to Bridgetender - mediocre food and overpriced.
Check out the website for a real look at this place. Its small and casual with nice menu.
South Beach was the best dinner we had on Wrightsville Beach.
With a number very good seafood entrees, the menu at South Beach has yet to provide me with a choice that didn't please me. I have been told that the Fried Pickles are a must for an appetizer, but not being a pickle man, I will take the word of others.
South Beach Grill is a very nice little resturant that has become a fixture on a beach that hasn't seen too many new resturants arrive and stay throughout the years.
For a nice night out at the beach, I give South Beach Grill a strong recomendation.
I have been going to this restaurant for eight years and it has only gotten better. They serve the freshest local seafood on the beach. The previous reviews are hard to believe. This place has maybe a dozen tables (tourist trap?) and is consistently voted by locals as the best on the beach. Expensive - you must be kidding!!! Most dinners are below $20 and come with sides and a salad.I don't know where the erviewer is from but down here health inspector do not take bribes. The last time I was in in November they had a 100 grade card - you can't buy that.
A broken A/C - my God it happens. How was the food???
If you are in the area - just ask a local.
