Sears Landing Grill & Boat, Surf City

We had the best time ever last Sunday at Sears! Thanks to the staff for putting up with us. I know you were overwhelmed by the crowd, since just about everyone in Surf City was there dancing on the dock. Good time, great food, a band, and the best bartenders on the island!

Ate there for the first time in april 2011, after several of our renters had told us they liked it. I liked the atmosphere and the food. Service was sort of slow and the menu was small. But the food was better than many other places I have eaten at in Surf City.

We were visiting from Ireland and it was love at first bite! Went back nearly everyday we were there. Sat outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Mitsy was our waitress and was brilliant! We had catch of the day and it was cooked to perfection. Best slaw in town too! Great service, great food.

This is far and away the worst experience I have had with a restaurant in Surf City in 18 years. We had to wait nearly an hour for a table, before waiting another hour for our food to come. Once the food came, we were disappointed to find that the high-priced food we had heard rave reviews of was greasy and cold. I ordered fried flounder and there was very little white meat on the fillet. It seemed as if since I had come later on in the night i had gotten the leftover flounder from earlier. The service was awful, considering that we were never offered refills for our drinks and had to go to ask the manager for our check. We were also overcharged by nearly ten dollars. I will avoid sears landing at all costs in the future, and anyone else looking for a positive dining experience in Surf City should too. Try Max's Pizza in Surf City or The Breezeway in Topsail Beach instead, you'll be glad you did.

This restaurant is not closed and it has very good food. Seafood roll app is fantastic.

Fantastic view of the water from our table!! Delicious, high quality food ~ please try the crab fritters (yum!). Our kids wanted to go back every night. Great place for families and great prices too.

My wife and I had a great breakfast here Oct. 31, 2009. The weather was mild, and we sat outside on the porch with a fantastic view of the water. My wife loved her omelet, and my eggs and sausage breakfast was very good. The service was excellent. We plan to go back for lunch or dinner later this week.

My family and I dined at Sears Landing and had a enjoyable experience. I am glad I didn't read the reviews before we went. I had the grilled shrimp, scallops and tuna. I especialy enjoyed the fresh fruit; pineapple, cantalope, melon and grapes. Although it wasn't cheap - it was good fresh food. I think that sometimes only the bad experiences get rated...how disappointing.

Don't listen to all of these negative reviews this place is GREAT!!! We live about 50 mins away and we will drive to the beach just to eat here!! Food is great and so the service and you get beautiful view while you eat. Can't ask for anything more!!!

Do yourself a favor and eat at Hardee's. This place has horrible service and canned food.
