I took my family to Giorgio s a week ago. There was a party of 6 of us and it took the server 10 minutes for someone to even greet us and get us out drinks. This we kind of understood because it was busy, but the server Lisa was very rude. We all ordered our food and the salads came out full of water and the tomatoes were old and moldy. We sent them back but by this time our food was out. We couldn t get anyone to get us refills on our drinks. Two of the entrees were cold. One of the lasagna s was still frozen in the middle and again we had to return it. By this time we were so frustrated with the service and food we wanted to leave. It was disturbing because we were kind of by the kitchen and you could hear the servers names being screamed very loud by the female chef. We left and a few days later I checked my bill at Giorgio s only to find and additional tip of $10.00 had been added on my card. The tip was clearly made out so there was no mistake on my part. I am disputing this with my credit card company because I am so disturbed with the place in general I don t even want to call them and get myself so angry. Obviously Lisa, our server thought she deserved more than we gave her and wasn t smart enough to realize our dinner and all the mistakes were very disappointing to us. We will never ever reccommend this place or go back. Good luck to anyone who does. It was also not very clean. Bathrooms had all kinds of tissue that was clearly used in bathroom stalls and I ended up with tissue on the bottom of my foot which is quite embarrassing.
I Have lived in Wilmington for 3 years and was born an raised in New York City, my exposure to some of the best Italian food in the country. From Little Italy in Manhattan to Allerton Avenue in the Bronx. I know a good Italian restaurant when I taste one. Giorgio's is one of the best. Service is prompt, portions are massive. Friendly atmosphere from the Management to the waiters , no better deal for the money than Giorgios.
My wife and I stopped for dinner at Giorgio's after a long day at Wrightsville/CB/Kure Beaches on Saturday. We first ordered the Salmon/Crab cakes and fried Mozzarella as appetizers. Both of these dishes were horrible. Neither of them are home made. They looked and tasted frozen. When an italian restaurant can't be bothered to make home-made mozzarella that is sad. The deep fried crab and salmon cakes were disgusting at best. Frozen bought in crap cakes is the only way to describe them. Needless to say we didn't order anything else and politely asked for the check and left. This was not a good italian experience!
I grew up in the Boston area which has a tremendous Italian population and have been to Italy 3 times in my life. GIORGIO'S
is the BEST on the the eastern coast of NC! My favorite is the Veal cooked anyway, but the best is the Marsala!! Bellisimo!
Great service, great food and warm welcomes every visit. We eat there at least once a week and it is consistent and I send everyone I know there!!!
Give yourself a truly delicious experience in Mediteranean family dining. (Sometimes there is a Greek special)!!
Giorgio's usually never fails to satisfy, but last night the Caesar dressing tasted like pure anchovy paste. I love Caesar salads, but this was the only one I couldn't eat. The dinners were fabulous and huge, so the salad was unimportant in the end.
Gorgio's gives you enough food to make two meals. Their dishes are great - hot, tasty and filling! The dinner room is nice but not especially fancy. They have a little bar area to the left when you walk in.
