Max's Pizza, Surf City

My cousin and I vacationed at North Topsail Beach during July 29th through Aug. 3rd. We ate at Max's Pizza on Friday night. As can be expected, there were a lot of people outside on the deck waiting to be seated. We didn't have to wait as we were were seated in a little booth for two. Evidently, the people waiting outside had several people in their party as they were waiting for a large table. I ordered the manicotti and my cousin ordered lasagna. Literally, about a minute after we got our salads, our main dishes arrived! Our waitress apologized for our meals being delivered to our table so quickly, however, I told her not to worry about it as the lasagna and manicotti were straight out of the oven. My cousin said she could barely taste any garlic in the garlic bread. The garlic bread looked like sub rolls with diagonal cuts across the top and there was no butter on the bread. The lasagna and manicotti was very good. Our waitress did an excellent job, especially considering how busy they were. I would definitely eat there again!

The BEST pizza on the island. The service is average and the interior design could use some updating.......but who cares because their pizza is phenominal! Nice chow to end a long day of activities on the water. Yummy!

pizza was by far not the greatest beer was skunky and the wrong toppings were put on it poor performance go some where else

We didn't have the same experience that most others seemed to have had. The service wasn't very good, our waitress disappeared for about 20 minutes, so no refills. The pizza wasn't as good as we expected after all the other reviews.

This is the best pizza I've ever eaten. The service is excellent year after year...I can't remember not eating there every year! There's only one issue...it needs to be twice the size it is. Everyone eats there and sometimes there's a lengthy line. A must-visit place while you're on the island.

Well it turns out the spinach is canned too. Also, dont have chicken topping :-(.

They said everthing on the pizza was fresh, the muchrooms are canned! We tried your pizza reading that everything was fresh, we were very disappointed.

all the pizzas are made from scratch all the veggies are cut fresh the cheese is graded, the sauce even the dough is made at maxs thats why its so good they are my favorite pizza i love their subs to, the italian and the super sub are my choice but its all good!

We've been coming to Max's for years. The lasagna is the best. You get a lot of cheese and it comes with a salad and garlic bread (All their bread is wonderful). Their pizza and subs are great...you cannot go wrong with the Steak sub....I've never tasted better steak anywhere!!!! Everybody is friendly and it's well worth the wait
