My wife and I call this our favorite restaurant on the East Coast. And we travel a lot. The food is absolutely incredible and the prices won't break you. It's casual yet elegant and has great character. All of the staff knows the meaning of service. I will warn you that the portions are large so bring your appetite or a doggy bag.
Well to start off, I heard many good things about this place and was hoping to expect great things. I was very upset with everything. The service wasn't what I expected, it was slow and the waitress did not pay us any attention. We had to ask multiple times for things that she forgot and she did not notice that our drinks needed refills. The food was even worse. I know how Thai food is suppose to taste like and it tasted nothing like it. The papaya salad was not spicy and it seemed pre-made.
You just can't go wrong with the restaurant. Been in the Wilmlington area here 2 years now, and just tried Indochine.....so sorry I didn't discover it sooner! Portions are huge and easily sharable......the green apple rice wine is a nice change and the atmosphere is perfect for this humid warm side of the country. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
This resturant is usually very good BUT encountered the most rude service on a medium paced week night. I thought okay, maybe she is new because I new the food would make up for the poor service. Wrong. We had ordered Pad Thai to be hot spiced and the curry to be medium and both were bland. Very disappointing. The waitress was not even friendly or helpful but only was concerned about her tip. She lacked social graces to state she was concerned about our table because we had children with us and typically people drink more and makes the bill higher... THIS IS WAY TOO RUDE. I was dumbfounded even to respond to her.
You are better off going at lunch time if you are willing to try a hit or miss experience.
This restaurant ripped my wife off!! The waitress overcharged her credit card ( more tip money )The general manager did nothing about it. I have the proof...bank statement and receipt. She told me she was buddist and I was bringing bad carma on myself!!? I wanted a refund and apology, not a lesson on carma. Please do not eat at this place! I am in the process of taking this matter further. Thanks for reading this.
Heaven. One of the best meals ever. Fun decor, great service, delicious food! Try the jasmine team, tom kha gai (coconut milk chicken soup), Vietnamese summer rolls and the Happy Asian Melody (so much food we split it)!
