We don t get to enjoy Flaming Amy s as much as we would like we love it very much but was very disappointed in our last visit. I normally order the same thing every time and did so this time as well. We got it to go and when I got home to eat it there was no avacodo and it was mainly lettuce not a whole lot of chicken nor hardly any bacon. I don t know if they have changed it all up or someone didn t want to work that day but I was really looking forward to it very much. Please guys don t let us down we love this place very, very much I would hate to have to go some where else because the standards have gone down.
My wife and I eat out a lot in Wilmington, NC. We stopped at Flaming Amys Burrito Barn on Oleander Drive for our first ever visit. The food was actually pretty good. I was sitting in a location that looked into the kitchen from my table. I have never seen such DIRTY floors, walls and ceiling. This was not new dirt. There was dropped food everywhere. This is certainly an indicator of larger health issues. Don't know why they would let areas visible to the public look so bad. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PLANS TO RETURN. In 20 years of eating out in Wilmington, this is my first negative review. I have a strong stomach but this was tooooo much for me.
Coming from an area that has several top notch Mexican restaurants I have been looking for one in Wilmington since I moved 3 months ago. Even though I would not consider this traditional mexican, it is the best I have found so far as burritos, chips salsa and dip goes!!! I will be a regular patron of this great place!
i have found the food to only ever be avrage and sometimes even bad. the staff always has an attitude and the restaurant may have a good sanitation score but it is discusting and dirty. i have yet to have a fairly good time.
good food, fun atmosphere. I'd describe it as more south-west or texas style mexican as apposed to traditional, but its still good and pretty fast. They deffinetly appeal to a young sort of rocker crowd but i've seen whole families there too and they're certainly welcoming of anyone. I also really like the patio out back, its usually quieter and it self seated, although they usually have a steady flow of customers I haven't ever felt crowded either. I've eaten there several times now and I've liked everything I've ordered, i also really like the salsa bar they have, its got a great variety of salsas i hadn't ever run across before and they really do add another dimension to the meal. The menu also does a great job of explaining what everything is and food lives up to their descriptions. We'll deffinetly be going back.
Great big burritos, avoid those with rice and beans in them, unless you plan on eating only half of it. I like the buffalo chicken burrito and the nachos.
It always looks too busy...always a big line, but I have never waited over 10 minutes for food...they move you right along.
