I have just recently stopped at Priddyboy's Sandwich Grill on Castle Hayne road, and I would like to say that the employees are exceptionally polite and treat every customer with the upmost respect. The sandiwches right along with soups and salads are delicious. Over all this Priddyboy's resturaunt out of the whole entire franchise is very homely and the best place to be, if you need to sit and do business or just hang with your friends.
Priddyboy's has become more like pretty disappointing. Stopped in to this one at Wrightsboro on Castle Hayne road and was pretty let down at how poor this place has become. In just the last year this restaurant went from a decent place with a quality sandwich to a place that I don't plan on returning to again.
My latest visit was made at a little before 2 PM on a weekday. The counter was cluttered. The young male taking my order was barely intelligible and wasn't all that excited about taking an order ( Sorry I interrupted your daydream, dude). The soda fountain area was in disarray, with straws and lids strewn about, and the trash can near overflowing. I do have to say that my sandwich was brought out pretty quickly. I don't have to say I enjoyed it...
I ordered the Reuben, which was a special. I was hungry and ordered the large. My sandwich, chips and a regular soda came to $10.44. That's highway robbery for what I received. The sandwich was skimpy, with way too much dressing, heavy sauerkraut, and about 2 oz of bland as heck corned beef. I couldn't even tell if there was actually any swiss cheese on the thing. It honestly tasted like a Thousand Island Dressing sandwich with kraut, on what was supposed to be rye, but I got regular white. Not even a pickle on the side.
It's no wonder there was hardly a car in the lot, and only about 10% of the seats filled. That should have been warning enough right there.
One can only hope that a better place comes in soon, after this shop closes down for good.
Don't bother seeing for yourself.
