Just experienced the Hilltop House Sunday brunch for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! Our friends have been telling us about this place for months and am so glad we finally took their advice and experienced it for ourselves. This is definiely our new Sunday destination! we are going to tell every one we know!
My husband and I had friends visiting from out of town and we decided to take them to the Hilltop House for dinner. What a great choice! Not only is the house gorgeous but the food was worth every penny. The 4 of us shared the signature macaroni and cheese before ordering entrees...another great choice! One word...SINFUL! The entire evening was just exceptional. Our friends are still raving about it. They're coming back to visit just so we can take them there again!
went to the hilltop house with my husband for our anniversary...a bit pricey but the food was excellent and so worth it! the atmosphere is quiet & romantic...not a restaurant id go to on a regular basis but definitely for a special night out :)
I like the place. It's relaxing & comfortable to eat there. The food is pretty good, but quite expensive for what you're actually getting. I ordered quiche which came with a tiny salad & I think it was a tiny bowl of fruit(???) & a tiny croissant, all on one plate & it was $9.95. It's a nice place to meet with the ladies, but if you pick up the tab, know that it won't be cheap & for parties over 6 people, they charge an automatic 18% gratuity. The staff is really nice though & you can take your time eating...though they close in the middle of the day for like 3 hours. You can also pay for private rooms. It's good for get togethers.
What a pleasant surprise to find such a wonderful restaurant nestled in the heart of Haymount. Service with a smile! Not often do you find restaurants in Fayetteville that actually give the quality of service that you find at the Hilltop House. My husband and I stumbled across the Hilltop House quite by accident. Food and wine list was quite impressive. This will definitely be our destination for valentine's day or any other time we're looking for a great meal.
I have eaten luch here several times, was a great expeience. I brought my husband for dinner expecting the same. IT WAS HORRIBLE. By the time the appetizer of scallops came it was cold (we were the only people in the place). The Shrimp on my shrimp and grits was so over done you could push the back of your fork on it and it would fall apart, it did not even taste like shrimp. My husbands collards were so salty he could hardly eat them (and he's southern born and raised). The server did nothing but argue with us and when we asked to speak to the owner who was there, she also would not come out and talk to us. For a $100 meal this was the worst we have had. After I told the waiter not to re cook the shrimp and grits for me, he still did it and insisted I take it (we just left it on the table) I am shocked such a good lunch place like this could do such a poor dinner.
This must not bee too much of a surprise to the people of fayettville since on a Friday night, other then a small party, we were the ONLY people in the resturant.
My wife and I just moved to town and asked our neighbor's where to go for a nice dinner out. The first place they reccommended was the Hilltop House. Despite a few mixed reviews online we took a chance and were very pleasantly surprised. Everything was wonderful, from the atmosphere, the service, and especially the food. The service was the first place we have been to in this area that is up to the quality you expect at fine dining up north where we moved from. Everything was exceptional and we would highly recommend it to anyone who asked.
NO NO NO !! Very disappointing experience. We just revisited the Hilltop for the first time in several years, and again, very disappointing. This restaurant would like to be considered a fine dining experience, but the quality of food and service are very POOR. Just tonight the salad was not freshly made (appeared to have been premade and sitting in a refrigerator for a while). I ordered the special T-Bone and it was overcooked (asked for medium and it was overdone and very tough) and did not have an appetizing flavor/taste. The young waiter was not very astute to notice that I did not eat much of the steak and actually shared my wife's meal. I would be very surprised if I EVER return to this dining facility and would not encourage anyone else to if they are looking for a good fine dining experience. Sorry Fayetteville :) THUMBS DOWN..
