Pewter Rose Bistro

Description

Thank you for your interest in our restaurant. We have been serving friends, family and guests for over 20 years. Our location is less than one mile from the uptown business district; in the heart of historic South End and the Dilworth neighborhood. Plus we have a stop on The Light Rail! The restaurant occupies the second floor of a turn-of-the-century textile warehouse. Its original massive wood beams and soaring 30-foot ceilings, flanked front and back by walls of French paned glass provide a unique home for one of Charlotte's most popular establishments. Chef Martin and staff offer menus that are "Internationally- American," drawing on the diverse, ethnic and cultural heritage of the United States - relating it to the palate of the region. Local produce, fresh seafood, poultry, beef, pork, game meats, and vegetarian items are all interpreted in unique yet "comfortable" ways.

Received a groupon from a friend and was very excited having never been to this restaurant. We were very disappointed. My daughter and I were celebrating and went for lunch. Very nice decor and ordered an appetizer along with 2 entrees. 45 Mins later we received our appetizer with our meal 2-3 mins later. Food was not very good, tasted weird and low end ingredients . The waitress forgot her fruit, and then after reminding her she forgot again. Waitress was very unprofessional. We spoke to the manager and then left. Very Disappointing! Like another reviewer we both had stomach aches after only appetizers and a few bites of the entrees. DO NOT RECOMMEND! My daughter now calls it the Putrid Rose.

Better late than never. In Feb 2010, we had our son's rehearsal dinner party at the Pewter Rose. It was wonderful. The food, the atmosphere, the service, everything. The crew even carried my aunt up the stairs. The 150 guest were loved the party with no effort on my part. Spencer, you rock.

We loved this place! Everything was wonderful. I loved the menu choices, the atmosphere, our server, the food.. you name it. We loved it and cannot wait to go back. We had to rush out the door to make an appointment but we're already planning our next visit to the Pewter Rose and we intend of having NO other appointments that make us rush! I'm baffled by any bad review. I guess everyone can have a bad night.. but I have to say this place is top notch.

Every experience I have had at Pewter Rose has been wonderful. The servers are very knowledgeable and attentive. The Sunday Brunch is my favorite, but the choices made to create each plate have left a wonderful combination of flavors each time. The atmosphere is relaxing esp in spring to sit on the patio.

This is by far, the worst restaurant. Our group of 8 went there for dinner this past week, the food was tasteless, no flavor, the service was slooooow, it took an hour to get a glass of wine. Only one person at the table got a decent meal, the chioppino was awful, how about some garlic and parsley? My neighbor got the smallest piece of chicken I've seen anywhere, since I picked the restaurant, I had to apologize to everyone for the awful meal. I'll never go there again.

We have eaten dinner at Pewter Rose twice this spring. In both cases, the service was the best we have had in Charlotte or Vegas in recent years, the food was elegantly displayed and even tastier than it looked, and the atmosphere and environment were ideal for a quiet, relaxing, and romantic meal. This is one of Charlotte's best kept dinner secrets at a place known best for having the best brunch in Charlotte which we have not tried. Needless to say we shall return!

you know it's a great place when whiny little maggots take time to write a paragraph long review badmouthing the place and acting as if they were forced to eat the food and they couldnt send it back. punks. the place stays busy because it's great and people know it. every place will have bad nights, especially when they're trying to maintain lots of choices and trying to make even the most petty, classless disgusting people happy. the lawrence of arabia couldn't have been better.

The only word to describe the food was wretched. The chicken marsala was so dry that it was inedible, especially since there was no marsala sauce on it. The Lamb tasted like it had been cooked with the fish so it lacked any flavor. Nobody at our party was 'wowed' by the food. If you get a dessert, get the Tizzerts, because the dessert made in their kitchen were also just horrible. I had only 3 bites of the bread pudding before having to put it aside. I know the restaurant has a long history and a great atmosphere, but don't let that fool you into thinking that the food is actually worth the price.

Went there for valentine's dinner. Awful service and food that I can't even explain. Overcooked flounder stuffed with imitation crab meat, unrecognizable artichoke that appeared grey, brutal bread pudding that we sent back. Do not waste your money or time unless you are into the gay scene
