Sitar Restaurant, Vancouver

An excellent concept in authentic Indian cuisine and great value for money. The area may be down market but it is neither the food nor the service in the restaurant.

If you're looking for something a little different try the Sitar's buttered chicken dinner. Amazingly tastey, the BEST Indian food I've ever tasted (confirmed by my many East Indian friends too). It's not a fancy place, old building, etc but it's clean and it's good value for the money. For under $20 per person you won't leave hungry. If the Sitar moved to a better area of town they'd be millionares. CAUTION: This is THE poorest neighbourhood in Canada so don't leave valuables anywhere in your car or in view. It's also the property crime capital of Canada and people have had their cars broken into for an empty soda can and aggressive panhandlers can be a problem. Take a cab to the front door.
