Fontanella Italiano Ristorante, Matthews

In my life I have travelled far and wide but I have never met an owner as rude and downright unpleasant as this miserable SOB. Practically screamed when I wanted a different table in front of everybody on my 1 year anniversary. Total idiot! Don't waste your time. PS I lived in Sardenha Italy, but never went to Sicily because of how rude I heard the people were, this man lived up to than dirty reputation.

I don't understand why Fontanella's doesn't have a long wait for a table, because it has the best Italian food in the area. The fried calamari is out of this world. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable.

This is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The food and the service are always wonderful. The prices are very reasonable. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat in all of Charlotte.

Fontanella's is probably the best Italian food I have had in the Charlotte area. The service is impeccable also. If you want a truly positive dining experience, go to Fontanella's ! You will not be sorry. The restaurant is family owned, and they will take good care of you.

This is a Great place for lunch. Food is always hot and fresh. Great price.

Just a note to thank the Fontanella staff for the professionalism in hosting my parents 40th wedding anniversary party! We all had a wonderful time and are looking foward to visiting the restaurant again soon. Much Thanks

We visited our son and his family in Matthews and went to this restaurant. From now on, it'll be our place to go when visiting. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. The service was excellent (Sarah was our waitress). We loved the sauce...real home-cooked. Our son's family had not been there before, but I know they'll go many times, even when we are not visiting. Our grandchildren enjoyed it too, especially the ice cream that is included with the kid's meals.

The bread was average, the veal was a little tough, and the spaghetti was blah.

Great price and value for a lunch buffet on weekdays! Authentic Italian food.

Homemade meatballs & minestrone, great grilled (healthier) chicken dishes and fantastic wine & liquor selection, all at a reasonable price. Although you may wait a while on Friday or Saturday night, where won't there be a wait on these nights. What a great place!!!!!!!!
