Rundown Cafe, Kitty Hawk

Went to Rundown Cafe our first evening and had a very, very, very, bad experience. First we were seated and there was only six other people in there seated at two different tables. We placed our order and people started coming in. The place was full and we kept waiting, waiting and more waiting. We asked about our food and when we finally got it (crab cake sandwich) they were burnt, one more than the other two. They tried to make excuses, but told them how disappointed we were in the service. I would say by what was left on our plates they knew we didn t enjoy the food one bit. :(

Our first night in OBX, on vacation. Seated outside and had our dinner. GREAT food. Our first time there and we will go back. Loved the food.

We just went to Rundown this August and were very disappointed - with the exception of one dish - the Mahi Mahi special. The shrimp was UNDERcooked, burger just okay. Loved our waiter, but he was not enough for me to return. I wanted spicy - - remember it's Jamaican. Again, I was disappointed. Being from the West Coast, I had hoped for more. If you want to party - you're in the right place.

I live in Elizabeth City (about an hour away) and will drive to the beach specifically to go to the Rundown. It is the most welcoming resturant I have ever been to. The food is always delicious and the quality ever consistent. And the prices can't be beat!

A true staple of our OBX vacation. This excusisit food and delectable drinks made my taste buds tingle and sing in a joyous tone. I completely adore this restaurant.
