This restaurant was mentioned to us while we were at the tourism office in Cape Hatteras.
We arrived at the restaurant at about 1pm (and I noticed they closed at 2pm)
We ordered water to drink. It tasted awful even with lemon & sweetener.
My son is on a special diet and I asked a few questions about the menu. The waitress seemed annoyed by my questions
My onion rings were burned and my mother's chicken strips were overcooked.
Overall it was a terrible experience!
I would not recommend this restaurant.
We arrived for lunch, and the restaurant was pretty crowded. It took about 15 minutes to have our order taken, and then 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The fries were good, but our blackened Mahi Mahi was dry and overcooked. Lunch menu is a bit pricey for quality of food. Overall, would not recommend this restaurant.
Great burger. Maybe best on the island but the seafood was sub Par. Was not local seafood at all. shrimp were from the gulf I think. If u want a steak or burger then this is your place. If you want good local seafood look else where.
The cornbread will spoil your dinner LOL eat it all up -it is sooooo good, and the Hatteras style chowder is wonderful.
I wish I lived closer to go there more ofter, but if I need to go to Hatteras, I leave extra time to go to SONNY'S first
We stopped in for breakfast one morning while on vacation and we would not recommend this place. For one, they do not know how to make a cheese omelet. There were very few people in the restaurant but the waitress acted like she had more important things to do than to refill our glasses. Food is not good at all.
