After driving 9 and 1/2 hours to get to OBX we had time to walk the dogs a few minutes and find most restaurants close early. Diamond Shoals had been a great choice they stayed open until 9:30pm and were still friendly and welcoming to two hungry travelers. Our waitress Savannah was the best welcome to the beach. We shared the excellent clam chowder and some nicely fried calamari. We split an entree of the fresh broiled grouper and it was excellent. A glass of merlot and sweet dreams of the beach tomorrow!!!
In a previous visit two weeks ago I found the adjoining Seafood market a great place to buy fish for dinner you prepare. We scored excellent pompano, tuna, and grouper fillets. They will cook it too if you need for a small fee. They have good dips and sides too.
The best restaurant on the OBX! I was with 4 other people. We sat down and the waitress was very friendly. I ordered the salad bar and it would of been hard to find without the waitress directions. My steak was delicious and so was their food (the other 4 people I was with) My steak was cooked to perfection. The fries were the best fries I've ever tasted. It was a great under-the-sea experience! PLEASE EAT HERE!!!
