Spartacus Restaurant, Durham

Saturday 8/29/10 Well needless to say my heart was broken...The lovely wait staff was not there to greet us on arrival. They had been replaced with folks I have never seen before. It was not the wonderful Spartacus Buffet I loved so well. My favorite item on the bar was the hummus. I always thought in the past that it was the best hummus I have ever eaten. Saturday the hummus was sour like sour milk. The Wonderful traditional Greek dishes had been replaced with Mac and cheese (given this is ok for little children) and greasy fried chicken. There was no gyro, no pasta dishes and where were the green beans? Terrible gooey chicken.. Geez Louise…had I wanted Mama Dips I would have gone there.

The lunch buffet is a great value and the food is tasty. I go every time I'm in the area.

We have lived in Durham 9 years and just started visiting Spartacus about a year ago. We're sorry we didn't get there sooner. Food is very good. Wait staff is very good. Drinks are very good;) Plus, we've never had a problem getting a table, even when surrounding restaurants are packed. We visit at least once a month and have never been disappointed.

I have been to the Spartacus several times, and I have enjoyed it each time I have been there... The buffet at lunch time is WONDERFUL, with lots of delicious choices, and all are very tasty! I would recommend anyone to this restaurant for a pleasant meal with excellent Greek food, and the prices aren't bad either!

This place isn't as well-known as some other places, but it is good. The food and staff are great. Everytime I've been, I have enjoyed it.
