Top of the Hill opens daily as a restaurant that has been voted "Best Place to Impress a Date," "Best Place to See and Be Seen," and "Best Outdoor Deck," among other awards. The locals frequent the Top for great food and brews, and visitors will find it highly recommended as a true taste of Chapel Hill. Patrons indulge in an eclectic selection of Baked Crab Dip, Tenderloin Bruscetta, or French Quarter Jambalya. When the sun goes down, the Top transforms into a chic UNC hangout, featuring Drain the Tank Mondays and live music on Thirsty Thursdays. "Pub Food" is a massive understatement. I ordered a Salmon special which came prepared in a rice bag with with cooked vegetables. It was top quality. Top of the Hill is by far one of the best restaurants in the area.My only complaint is the noise level. It was very loud and hard to carry on a conversation. But then again... it's a sports bar atmosphere.

We usually eat here every year for a friends birthday. The food is very good and the atmosphere is the best. It always seems to be busy but the service is first class. It is a little pricey, but not overly.

Must go for out of towners!!

This is a place that everyone must go at least once. This is a great spot with good food, great social area, and a nice view of franklin street and chapel hill. This is also a really good place for lunch, business or personal.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Chapel Hill. Staff is always friendly. Food is great. The view of Franklin Street is the real reason why I love this place!

Good beer, location...

Good beer, location and atmosphere. Tends to be noisy especially on the wknds. Good place to hang out but not likely for a date. I haven't tried the food but menu looks like typical pub fare. Can't go wrong with the beer.

A bit pricey, but the food is great. I'd definitely recommend Top of the Hill, but try getting a table outside for the best dining experience, as it overlooks Franklin St.

Haven't been in about a year. Been living in Chapel Hill since '92 and been there a handful of times. The food was mediocre at best, and the beer was horrible. The bar staff seemed to be on top of their game, The only good thing about this place was the view. I'd recommend staying away unless they dramatically changed the place recently. You can get a much bigger bang for your buck elsewhere in Chapel Hill.
