Maximillians is truly one of the best restaurants in the Triangle.
It delivers a fusion of different flavors that distinguishes it from most other restauarants in the area. It manages to deliver unique cuisine without being pretentious. For the quality, this restaurant is a great value. We ate there (with reservations) for New Years and the service and quality on such a busy night was outstanding.
I work the local bar up the street from Maximillians witch I send just about anybody who wants to eat the best food in the Raleigh/Cary area if not the best food in the east. I have dined at Maximillians several times and absolutely adore the place. Maximillians has a great atmosphere witch makes a really great dinning experience. I beg you please if you want excellent service, a great dinner, and most of all an explosion of flavor go to Maximillians.
A friend and I dined at Maximillians in Cary last night, and even though we got there later (8:30PM), everything was still fresh and wonderful! I had the Red Snapper, and it was incredible. It was very fresh and paired with pine nuts in a light chardonnay broth over angel hair pasta. The wine selection was also very nice too! I would highly recommend Max's to any of my friends - and I can't wait to go back again!
As a former restaurateur/chef, I take my food seriously. Maximillian's always delivers. I love their way with seafood and the interesting way they always combine ingredients. I had a lobster dish with shrimp and scallops and coconut milk tinged with Thai basil. It was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I'm going back soon even if I have to go alone. They know me and always make me feel welcome.
My wife and I went for a quiet night out and a nice dinner. We received neither. Albeit we did not have reservations, the wait, which we were told upon entering would be 1/2 hr, was at over an hour and still running when we gave up and left.
The atmosphere was terrible anyway. It is cramped, dark, very noisy and the dining areas are all open to a tiny galley bar. It is in a very unattractive part of town, in a strip mall.
Apparently the food is decent, based on a recommendation from a friend, but was expensive for what I saw people eating. The drinks were expensive as well.
