Definitely a disappointment. I have eaten here several times over the years with much success, but tried twice in the last 6 months and left very unsatisfied. The service was not very good, but was much better than the food. Salad was wilty, bread stale, main course not very tasty. I volunteered to swap with my wife as she seemed particularly unhappy... she discovered my dish was worse than hers. Any place can have a bad night... I gave it two chances and am done. It is a shame because we both really like the ambiance of the restaurant, just can't stomach the food.
The service is horrible. We waited 10 minutes at the hosting station, only to be asked if we had reservations even though the restaurant was only 1/4 full, then we were seated on the patio. After 15 minutes of no acknowledgment - not even a drink order - we got up and left. I would understand having to wait for service if the restaurant was extremely busy, but it wasn't and the couple that was seated after us had a glass of wine and basket of bread within three minutes of sitting down - their appetizer was being served as we walked out.
The food is delicious and the service is friendly but unintrusive. A great place for a classy, romantic dinner. A little on the expensive side, but prices are normal for this type of boutique restaurant.
The food is very good, some of the best Italian in the area. They have specials each night and often have home made pasta. The staff is very friendly, the kind of place where you get to know them and want to go back. Definitely recommended, far better than most chains.
