My wife and I recently visited this restaurant on October 16th, 2008, and believe me, we will NEVER return.
I couldn't believe the bad service we received. The person that greeted us was extremely rude to my wife from the very beginning. Not sure if he was having a bad day or what, but it was highly unnecessary!
Come to find out, it was the owners son!!! How can the owners son be rude to the customer?
In business, the best advertisement is word of mouth. Believe me when I state that Toreros Mexican Restaurant in Cary, NC located off of Kildare Farm Rd will get the worst advertisement ever!
Stay away from this restaurant. If the owners son is giving bad service, I can only imagine what everyone else will give.
I don't recall ever having bad service at this location (or the Raleigh location, to be honest). I think the food is great for the price, and it certainly beats the usual Taco Bell ;) It has more of a sports bar and grill atmosphere than, say, Olive Garden! But yet it's not as casual as Moe's or Qdoba. Slightly more authentic in taste. I haven't been in awhile, but I've been wanting to go back!
Average food, below average service. Last time in (which will be my last) was sweating during the meal because it was so warm. And the guitar player going table to table may have been good for some, but just annoying for us. You can find better Mexican elsewhere.
Visited Torero's again for Margarita Night (Mondays, $1.50), though one can get a drink special most any night at Torero's. Combined with reasonably-priced combos and specials, and kids-eat-free (Mon-Thur), Torero's is an inexpensive and tasty dinner out. The atmosphere is booths and tables in a slightly-darkened room, with Mexican decor and music, and a new flat-screen TV (ESPN always seems to be on, muted). The food can be a little spotty, sometimes great, usually good, but once in a while just fair. Same can be said for the service. But despite its occassional misses, it's still a good place to eat out.
