The service really is terrible, and the managers are worse. I went on a saturday and was accidentally (I assume) charged twice on my bank card for the meal. When I called a very nice man told me to come back at my convenience to get a refund. I did, and even though my info was written down the current manager gave me a hard time, but finally put a 'refund' on my card. The receipt showed the amount as negative. Checking my back account I WAS CHARGED AGAIN!!!! When I called back he claimed there was nothing else he could do, and that it was negative to indicate money coming from their drawer. Very rude, I've now been charged THREE times for one meal!!!!
We stopped at Cookout while attending a family wedding. WOW! We were hooked on their cheeseburgers & milkshakes! THE BEST probably in the world and we mean it sincerely. We probably stopped at every COOK OUT in the entire state of North Carolina. We even bought extra cheeseburgers and smuggled them across the state to Vrginia. We ate some at the rest area and again for dinner when we arrived in southern Virginia! WE WANT COOK OUT fast food restaurants in VIRGINIA!!!!
Must say my first experience with Cook out about a few years ago was horrible and so I only recently re-visited. This time thumbs up. I got the Cheeseburger with Mayo lettuce tomato and grilled onions. It was as good as I've been hearing. too bad my first experience kept me away so long, but that is the nature of a 1st impression. The service was a little better, the first time they rushed me to order and then wouldn't let me add anything at the window so I just drove off and never went back. I never hear complaints about the food just the service.
I used to eat at CookOut (well, take it home and eat, or eat in my car at lunch) 4-7 times a week. I LOVED it! But now it's dropped to 1 time a month because the service is so bad! Often the order is wrong. The drive thru people act like they're doing me a favor to give me my food. They can't figure out the correct change. It's just become too big a hassle to go there. I hate it too because I love the food, but life's just too short.
The food at Cookout is pretty good for the price. However, the service is HORRIBLE!! 9 times out of 10 the order is incorrect. My coworkers & I wonder why it's so hard for management to hire staff that can READ!! So, if you have time to order, wait for the food, check the order, report the mistake & wait AGAIN to have your request prepared correctly, then Cookout's the place for you!
You could go to a nice restaurant and get a $10 burger, but it won't top the burgers at Cook Out. They are not only the best in town -- they're the best in the state. They truly taste like you cooked them in your own backyard. The milkshakes are great, too. You'll probably have to wait a while in the drive-thru (this place doesn't have inside seating ... just a drive-thru), but that's because it's so popular. It's worth the wait.
The one in Moorresville is the slowest service I've ever had. The drinks are completely full of ice. The quickest I've gotten my order was 11 minutes! The longest was 24 minutes. If you go there make sure you have plenty of time to burn
If you have never been, you have never lived! Cook Out is one of the few places in town to get great food late night without having to deal with poor service and dirty tables. I have to recommend the spicy chicken sandwich tray with nuggets and a corndog and a sweet tea.
