Excellent Food
Angel and I tried Tupelos last weekend while on a day trip to Hillsborough. We found it to have been an excellent choice!
Tupelos has a very low-cost lunch menu, and very high quality food. Their cuisine is a combination of traditional Southern fare with a Cajun twist.
We enjoyed one of their signature dishes, Fish and Chips, as well as a Shrimp Po' Boy. Their fries are incredible; the fish was perfectly prepared, and the Po' Boy was incredible!
The only negatives that we had with our experience was that we had to actively get our server's attention by waving through the window (we were seated at one of the sidewalk tables on a gourgeous fall afternoon), and their restrooms are, shall we say dredfully in need of some upgrading? Some thick dust on the bar awning also caught my notice...
For the quality of the food EXCELLENT. For the quality of facilities: Adequate. For the quality of service: If you are going to have Bistro tables, have your servers take care of them in addition to their indoor tables.
Yes, we would eat there again, but next time we will make sure to either sit inside or to let our server know upfront that her wages depend on refilling our drinks BEFORE we start waving empty glasses in the windows.
