Rainbow Family Restaurant, High Point

My husband and I regularly travel 23 miles one way to eat here. We are on a budget and this place is the best. Rainbow offers healthy food - a meat and 3 vegetables (or 2 vegetables and dessert) along with bread and coffee or tea for about $8.00. The chef salad is the best in the land! They have the largest selection of sides of anywhere. The food is fresh and hot and good. Service is quick and the waitresses keep your beverages full. The dining room is large and attractive with lots of windows. We highly recommend.

LEADING AUTHORITY I may be a leading authority on Rainbow, I have been eating there for 20 years. They have been that good for that long. The baked spaghetti is silky and rich, covered with gooey cheese and piping hot served with crunchy garlic bread to scoop up every drop. The baked chicken is succlent and falling off the bone tender and served with rice that I think has a touch of saffron. Obviously, one of my favorites, I've had it hundreds of times. The salads are cold and crisp and dressings homemade. The cucumbers&onions are dressed with just the right balance of vinegar and sugar. The steamed cabbage is never bitter,always tender but never mushy. Can you tell Rainbow feels like I've gone home to visit family? Even on a budget you get a great value. It is always soooo... clean and the staff is always familiar and polite. Give it a try, you won't go away hungry or disappointed.

I've been eating at Rainbow most of my life. The family really knows how to run a restaurant and cook a good meal - I haven't had a bad experience in 15 years, and I eat there about twice a month. They have something for everyone, from italian to seafood to country cookin' to burgers and fries. Great place to take the family to please everyone.
