Avoid staying past 9pm...
Unlike many people I know, I am not really enamoured with this Shanghainese restaurant in Pacific Place. The decor is interesting but I find the food to be just above average. The location itself makes it popular.
In the evenings, they employ a single to perform some of the old songs from a bygone era - trying to revive the feeling of Shanghai when it was the Paris of the Orient. However my experience tells me that the singers they hire are actually not very good, and have a penchant for wearing tacky costumes. So my friends and I usually try to get out before 9pm, since we are certainly not paying extra for the terrible performance!
