Little Richard's Bar-B-Que, Winston-Salem

I like the Lexington style BBQ this little place produces, and though the sauce is a little more vinegary than most in the piedmont, it does contain ketchup and that's Lexington. The meat is not chopped too finely, and has some brown bits in it, and is a little moist coming out of the kitchen - I never feel the need to add any more sauce to it. The BBQ chicken served Friday & Saturday is very, very good. The slaw is a white slaw, and goes well with the pork. The fries are only so-so, the hush puppies very good, and the Brunswick stew is ok. They make a very good hamburger, it used to be even better before they changed the bun, too much bread now. And finally they make a good hot dog. The place is small, crowded at peak, with some outside seating. No credit cards, so cash is needed. This place has no current connection with the Little Richard's in Clemmons, though they do have another place in Wallburg.

Great NC style BBQ. New to town and had always heard about the famous barbque in North Carolina and this was even better than I had expected. 5 stars

They only accept cash, but you know what? Their prices are lower because of it! The bbq is the best I have ever had! I love the bbq slaw too!! I just can't say enough, and they even have tater tots! It just tastes like something you'd make at home!!!

The food was really good, but the service was really slow. And when I went they didnt except credit cards but you dont find that out until you are up at the cash register to pay. Thankfully they took a check. Also the parking is HORRIBLE to get out of there if you go during a busy driving time

The best barbecue in town without a doubt. The hush puppies are great. Their only weakness is the barbecue slaw but the regular slaw is fine. Sometimes the restaurant is a little "smokey".

IN SEARCH OF...AUTHENTIC NORTH CAROLINA BBQ -- Excellent pork barbecue, and I'm super picky. The sauce is the perfect mix of vinegar, sweet, and spices. Order coarse chopped on a plate (trays are cardboard and soak up the sauce too quickly.) Bring your own Tupperware containers if you want to take leftovers home, because they will give you a piece of foil and a paper cake box -- too leaky. Buy the sauce by the bottle if you want to take it home to Florida, like me!! I'm not a fan of the slaw, so I give it to Mom. Plus, the hush puppies are a little over cooked. However, I give the Pork BBQ and sauce an A++.

This is by far my favorite BBQ place/chain, ever. The BBQ is great, not really moist, but not too dry either. Its vinegar-based. Its not spicy, though they do have sauces at the tables/booths if you like your BBQ spicy - since I like mine plain this is the perfect situation for me. My only complaint is that they're not open on Sundays, which KILLS me cause thats usually when I'm in or going through Winston. The service is really quick - whether you're sitting down or doing take out.

I really love this place! Their BBQ is so fresh and their hushpuppies are really awesome - plus they have curbside service after 4, so you don't even have to get out of the car!
