Usually these small town restaurants--not the fast food ones--serve very good grub--pardon the expression. Star Hotel Restaurant is no exception. I personally ask for the daily special when there is one. Once, in one of these Potomac Highland restaurants, I had a baked corn dish that was to die for. It could have been at the Star in Franklin. I don't remember. The next time you are there, ask if they have a baked corn dish. If they do, order it.
We have eaten at the Star Hotel Restaurant about 4 or 5 times. It is a nice surprise to other offerings in Franklin. If you are tired of fast food and you are looking for a nice quiet up-scale dining experience, I think you will be pleased here. We have been pleased with everything we have ordered. The salad bar is small, but nice. It beats all those pigs trough-like bars that are seen elsewhere. Some negatives are a very limited children's menu and short sided imagination for serving a decent bread with their meals. In any case, the restaurant exceeded our expectations for the little town of Franklin, WV.
