Since the Rose in Westover closed, this is THE place that's left for good pasta, and Pugs has great pizza, sandwiches and home made soups to boot. I used to be a regular when I lived in Morgantown, and hadn't been there in years until recently. I have been in Morgantown a lot recently due to work, and it was nice to see that Pugs hasn't changed much. From the moment they bring you that wonderful homemade bread with your drinks until you get that steaming bowl of fresh pasta, Pugs just exemplifies quality. It still has a nice, cozy and comfortable atmosphere. But over all of that, the food is excellent. Contrary to another reviewer, the prices in my opinion are cheap. Fresh pasta with shrimp and scallops for $15?! That's cheaper than a lot of ocean front resort area places, in Morgantown! That said, compare the average pasta dish with meat or seafood price of $13 to $14 with any other restaurant of it's class in the area, Back Bay or any of the franchise hell places, and Pugs is probably cheaper, and likely much better. Pugs is a somewhat unknown gem in a sea of Morgantown sprawl. I am somewhat biased, as I just generally avoid the franchise places and prefer the locally owned type joints. With places in Morgantown like Pugs, Tiberios II, Madelines, Ali Baba, Maxwells, Keglers, etc., you can find any type of high quality food you want without resorting to the chain restaurants. Think globally, act locally.
Eat at Pugs!!! :) I highly recommend trying the soups as well, they will substitute soup for your salad if you like. If you get the salad, the pine nut dressing is recommended as well..
