You can't do any better then the Char

What a delightful meal and the service was the best that I have experienced anywhere. I have never had a Swordfish steak that tasted as good as thsi did, it was so tender that it actually melted in ones mouth. I was with 2 other work associates. One had the prime Rib (he has not stopped raving about it yet ) and the other also had the swordfish. I would give this restaurant a solid 10 in both the great food and great service category.

My husband and I have been going to this Restaurant for many years and truly love it. We took some long time friends of ours there Saturday evening, along with my Sister and Brother-In-Law and my husband had his worst meal ever. (Their House steak rolled with 3 cheeses. ) There were 6 of us and (2) of the steaks were seriously overdone. My Grouper was perfect, but it makes for a bad evening when 2 out 4 is not satisfied.I hope I can get my Husband to return.

Fine Dining

This restaurant offers the finest of food in a wonderful atmosphere. It is the place to go if you want to really treat yourself or your guests. The prices are high, but everything about the place is high class and worthy of what they charge. It is in an out of the way location, and you have to seek it out. I recommend it for very special occasions when you can splurge.

One Of The Best

I am a former employee of the American Automobile Association which rates restaurants across the nation. I can truly say The Char is one of the finest restaurants in the Middle Atlantic region. The food, service and overall appearance of this wonderful establishment are beyond belief. Don't look for any ads for The Char. The locals know it's in a beautiful wooded area and are quick to tell their friends. And how about valet parking? Yep. The staff of The Char attempt to make your visit as warn and friendly as possible. The steaks at The Char are great. A wide selection of seafood also is available. If anyone ever travels through Beckley and doesn't schedule a visit to The Char, they will miss a great dining experience.+
