Peking Restaurant, Martinsburg

Peking restaurant is the best Chinese food in the area! Without a doubt. The servers are so friendly & they're always filling up the buffet when things get low or go empty. The prices are quite reasonable as well. Their food is delicious! The egg rolls are a nice size & their general tso chicken is to die for. If you haven't already tried Peking, you must!

Standard food and salty at that! Usual frozen egg rolls! Have yet to find decent Chinese food in this area. There were a couple, one in Hagerstown and one in Charles Town, but they closed years ago.

I just rented out the balcony at Peking for a friend's bridal shower. The price was VERY modest and the rental was for 4 hours. They allowed me to come in early and decorate. The service was spectacular and they did seperate tickets without me even asking. If you like Chinese food, it has a pretty common menu and tastes like most other Chinese places. The eggrolls are about twice the size as normal ones, so don't order extra. :-) They allowed me to bring a cake in and also gave me plates, sliverware and serving utensils. At the end of the party I began to clean up the wrapping paper from the presents and they told me to leave it and that they would get it. I was very impressed by the service and would highly recommend it for a party.

I have eaten at this restaurant twice since moving to Martinsburg and was not overly impressed. All food contains MSG. I was very disappointed to learn this. You have to request no MSG in order not to have any in your food. I've lived in states from coast to coast and eaten a lot of Chinese food - most restaurants today remove MSG from their menus so they serve 'healthier' options. The buffet is your standard Chinese buffet; nothing spectacular. But, Martinsburg is full of buffets and people here seem to love them. I like supporting locally owned & operated businesses and stay away from chains. This restaurant is locally owned and very popular, but in my two visits I didn't figure out what all the hype was about.

Well my posting was removed yesterday, so I am reposting today I guess people only want to hear the restaurants are awesome!!!! I like to know the truth I have ate there and I had the Seafood Wor Pa and some Sesame Chicken, Im not sure, but I would venture to say the Seafood was the problem because another person atour table was sharing off the plate and did not get the severe food poison like myself. I was sick for 2 days with very bad vomittng. I figured out that just because a place doesn't have any bad reviews doesn't mean anything, jut means yahoo got to them before you could see it.:)

My husband and I love Peking Restaurant! I just get sad on Mondays when were hungry for chinese and there closed :( Mike and his staff are the most friendlist people and very helpful. The lady at the counter always remembers what my husband and I order everytime, that's cool! I recommond this resturant to everyone who loves great chinese food!

Without a shadow of a doubt, Peking is by far the finest Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten at. The food is great (General Tso's Chicken is my favorite), the service is excellent, and if you are one who likes to have a mixed drink, then you must get at least one Kane Special. Kane makes this drink himself. I say at least one, because you may only be able to handle one ! A good drink that really give you a wonderful buzz. Two will make you drunk, 3 will get you hammered.

Even after two locations and 30+ years of service Mike Chang and company prepares the best Chineese food in the tri-state area. There is a limited buffet at lunch daily and on Sunday; but the really good food comes from their extensive menu. Don't be afraid to ask, they will prepare off the menu items as well. On street parking and a city parking lot across the street make finding a space easy. Go, enjoy; and if it's your birthday, a must have is to have the waiters sing happy birthday to you. What a wonderful place to enjoy dinner.

This is by far the BEST chinese restaurant in the area. I've eaten at many every where I have been. Peking is still the best I've ever been to! The service is just as amazing as the food and the excellent dining area
