The crispy beef is the best that I've ever had, period. I've cooked in restaurants for about 5 years before I started my company, and those guys know what they're doing. If you're looking for a 5 star fine dining place where you have to wear a suit to get seated, go to the Bavarian Inn. If you want the best Chinese food in the area, try China Kitchen for dinner.
I have never had such a bad experience in a restaurant in my life. For starters, the glass they brought me to pour my beer in had lip marks all over it. Next I ordered a regular egg roll and they brought me out a shrimp egg roll. When I asked to have a regular egg roll and not shrimp they said it was my fault for not specifying which kind I wanted and they refused to take it off the bill. Next they brought out my broccoli and garlic sauce which was discusting. When I asked them to take it off the bill and I was going to split my boyfriend meal, they refused. We refused to pay for it, when we only ate one bite and the manager came out yelling at me, pointing her finger in my face and telling me it was my fault I didn't like the food. We tried to calmly tell her we didn't like and and just wanted it taken off the bill and she said no! Yelling at me like I was a child. She yelled at me to the point of tears and I walked out. MY boyfriend ended up paying $40 for meal we didn't even eat. WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!
This place has tasty food, but the chefs smoke in the kitchen and they also put unused tea back into the big pot that they serve people from. I witnessed both of these offenses and will never eat there again due to this. The owner is also unkind. Anyway these are just a few things I have witnessed.
I've eaten a lot of chinese food in my time. By far, the best fried rice is at China Kitchen. I challenge anyone to find better fried rice than here. The prices are cheap and the food is great. It's worth the trip...and we make it from Charles Town a lot...
The food is most often cooked by Mr. Wang (owner) himself. the entrees are huge in portion and taste great. Service is usually great and the food comes out faster than any other place in Shepherdstown. The prices are more than fair and Betty Wang is a wonderful woman, a true treat to meet. Plus, Shepherd students can order the lunch price menu all day long when ordering carry out. Great for poor college folks!
The food at the China Kitchen almost feels like a home cooked meal. The food is always delicious and the portions are very generous. The owners and operators Betty Wang and simply known as Mr. Wang are some of the most generally nice honest people you could meet as a customer and employee. It's the only chinese food in the area I will eat if I have a say in the matter. Not to be excluded the sushi is also pretty amazing.
amazing. not sure what els021961 is really talking about, every time i have eaten there, i have been treated very well and the food has been excellent. there is a fast take out service and the food always tastes fresh.
What a horrible dinner! The service was rude and acted like we bothered him--when we went to ask to get someone to correct our dinner order, they kept ignoring the problem. VERY RUDE! Food was not cooked and not chewable. COMPLAINED to Betty (the owner) and she started yelling and argueing! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTURANT! THEY ACT LIKE THEY'RE DOING YOU A FAVOR IF THEY WAIT ON YOU. LOUSEY SERVICE AND FOOD!
