Sitar of India
Sitar of India represents the delicious food in the heart of capitol City Charleston WV. We have memories from 1994 when it open for public and it's still serving with great food. Sitar of India Thanks all the visitors and community for their appreciation/Awards including" The Best Overall food Award" from Taste of Charleston (food critics Award).Special Appreciation Award from Charleston City Police. Other many awards from city communities and state for best food. We always try to participate with community services/donations with United way and many other charitable trusts. We always try to get best award from our customers make them happy. It is a false notion that all Indian food is just "hot". All spices and herbs are used, not just for flavor and aroma, but for their digestive and nutritional values. We have different varieties of traditional type of spices. We have different stages of food MILD, MEDIUM, HOT and Special for customers choice. Good wholesome food and good health are closely linked.
If you want to have your Lunch or Dinner RUINED... plz go there... Ive been there 3 times and believe me, they have literally nothing that tastes Good, not even close to the other Indian restaurants ive been.. Me being from Nepal originally know a quite bit about Indian food and spices, I can make better food than that any day... And they ask you the hotness???.. The hotness in Indian food is not just chili powder and someone needs to tell them that... It is how much amount of spices you put in like coriander, cumin, 'garam masala', garlic, ginger etc...
Overall: Bad food, Bad service, Kinda weird staff, and very very disappointing...
BEWARE of this place, I've been to many indian restaurants and this was one of the worst...food was reheated, the keema naan and samosa tasted old....Lamb Korma was floating in spicy water..they charge you for extra rice.....Service was terrible...staff was rude...and they ask you to add the tip to the bill upfront before they run your credit card....very shady..
A fabulous dining experience. The music is wonderful, the decor beautiful, water glasses always remain full. The Sitar of India possesses a family restaurant environment. It authentically and gracefully provides an experience that a chain restaurant could never imitate. The food is the SUPERB! You can tell that everything is always made fresh with the best ingredients.
